What was wrong
This Queen Anne dining table had excellent “bones” — cabriole legs with pad feet, a softly rounded top, and a scalloped apron — but the finish had worn unevenly.
The top surface and the curved leg/apron geometry showed variations in tone and sheen that made touch-up work a poor long-term solution.
What we did
- Complete strip of the existing finish across the top, apron, cabriole legs, and pad feet.
- Full surface preparation to bring all components to an even, consistent condition.
- Custom dark-brown finish developed and applied in stages across the complete piece.
- Hand work on curved geometry to maintain crisp scallops and consistent leg transitions.
- Protective topcoat system built in multiple leveled coats for durability and uniform sheen.
Care tips
- Use placemats/coasters and felt pads; avoid dragging items across the top.
- Clean with a microfiber cloth; avoid harsh chemical cleaners.
- Wipe spills promptly; avoid prolonged heat and moisture exposure.
- If sheen begins to dull in high-use areas, book maintenance early.
