Do you buy or sell furniture?
No, we do not buy, sell or trade.
Is my piece worth restoring?
Mostly what we do at G Michaels is work on family heirloom pieces that are priceless to the beholder. The decision to restore a piece comes down to it’s worth to the individual.
Do you provide estimates?
Yes, we currently provide in home estimates along with online estimates. We ask that you call the shop to schedule an in home estimate. Online estimates are best with accurate pictures of the damage and size of the damaged area (scratches, dents, veneer chips, etc.). Pictures of the overall piece of furniture would help as well.
How long does it take for a refinish?
2-4 weeks from the time work has begun.
Is there a current wait time to work on my furniture restoration?
Please call and ask for our current time frame.
Do you pick up or deliver?
Yes, our pick up and delivery fee is per person within the Northern Colorado area. Some furniture pieces may require 2 or more individuals. Some greater distances could require additional fee.
Do you do in home repairs?
Yes, we ask that you call the shop and schedule a time for an estimate, or have pictures of the damage to send to our shop email. The pictures are to help determine if we should bring the piece into our shop or if we can provide quality furniture restoration or furniture repair in your home.
Can you just repair without refinishing?
Yes. We also do structural repair and offer multiple options for cosmetic work. Such options are as followed: Basic Repair, Veneer Repair, Strip and Sand, Overall Polish, Sheet Chaining, Missing piece replacement.
Can I choose the color of my refinished piece?
Yes, we have an very wide variety of stains and paint choices. We recommend that once we have your piece of furniture sanded that you come into the shop and take a look at what the stain looks like once applied to your piece.
How should I care for my furniture?
Keep it in a dry area of the home and out of direct sunlight with an occasional light dusting of a lightly dampened towel. Protect all surfaces from heat and moisture.
Do you make appraisals?
No we do not appraise. However we can advise to the level of quality, make and age of the piece.
Do you do upholstery?
We do not. However we do work in tandem with upholstery shops that we can recommend.
