What was wrong

This sophisticated dining table suffered catastrophic moving damage — the base and internal support were broken and unstable, the expansion mechanism was impacted, and the cherry top showed visible scuffs and bruising.

What we did

  • Structural reconstruction of the base and internal frame for stability and alignment.
  • Mechanism repair & tuning so the table opens/closes smoothly and locks correctly.
  • Top refinishing to restore the warm cherry tone and remove visible surface damage.

Care tips

  • Use felt pads under décor items; avoid dragging heavy objects.
  • Wipe with a soft microfiber cloth; avoid harsh chemical cleaners.
  • Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight and HVAC heat vents.
  • If the mechanism ever feels tight, book maintenance before forcing it.

What are the benefits of refinishing doors versus replacing them?

Refinishing is less costly than replacing and refinishing allows you to keep the original door that matches the rest of the home’s decor.
