What was wrong

This antique oak dresser arrived structurally incomplete: the entire bottom drawer was missing, and the upper drawers had been reduced
to the original front panels with no drawer boxes behind them. Before any surface restoration could begin, the piece had to be built back
to full function.

What we did

  • Custom fabricated a new bottom drawer from raw oak stock.
  • Constructed new drawer boxes for the upper compartments to fit behind the original fronts.
  • Hand-blended stain color matching so new oak integrates seamlessly with aged antique oak.
  • Traditional French Polish applied across the dresser for depth, warmth, and clarity in the grain.
  • High-end paste wax buffed in for long-term protection and a smooth, even feel.

Care tips

  • Dust with a microfiber cloth; avoid abrasive pads.
  • Use gentle cleaners only; avoid ammonia or alcohol-based sprays.
  • Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight and HVAC heat vents.
  • If the finish begins to look dry/dull, book maintenance early for best longevity.
